A major step has been taken to establish an ambulance base in Rolling Prairie

for the very first time.

An eight acre parcel owned by the state has been given to county government.

It's just west of the U.S 20 and State Road 2 intersection.

County Commissioner Rich Mrozinski made the announcement at today's commissioners

Mrozinski says the goal is to begin construction in the spring but the funding has to be found

Mrozinski says a sheriff's office substation will also inside the new ambulance base.

Right now...that area is served by the ambulance in La Porte.

Having one out there should take several minutes off responses...
