A farmer in southwest Michigan is still fighting for his life.

Several weeks ago....Bill Teichman contracted mosquito transmitted

encephalitis.

He grows apples and other fruit.

Gary Wesolowski is the market manager at the farm outside Eau Claire.......

He says Teichman has shown some encouraging signs......but still can't speak or

do much else.....

He says Teichman was overcome quickly by the virus which sometimes leads to death.

His farm has hosted a cherry pit spitting contest for years.
