The LaPorte Slicers are under a seven game losing streak in high school baseball.

The Slicers lost to Valparaiso yesterday 7-4.

The game ended with a runner getting thrown out at second base.

Assistant coach Jeff DeMass told our very own Chip Jones after the game players

have to improve on little things like putting the bat on the ball with runners in scoring

position and knowing when not to try and take the extra base.

The 1-8 Slicers hope to break the losing streak today at home against John Glenn.
