A LaPorte County sheriff's deputy was hit twice from roads being slick during the light snow that fell

Police say deputy Michael Sweet was helping a motorist in a disabled vehicle along U.S 30

near 800 West.

He was outside his police vehicle when the vehicle parked along the shoulder was struck by another

westbound motorist.

Police say his vehicle was struck a second time by another westbound vehicle.

Driving too fast for weather conditions was ruled the cause in both accidents.

Police say there were no injuries in either of those collisions.

There many other accidents throughout the area yesterday.

Many of them were slide offs.....from roads being icy in spots.

So far...there have been no serious injury accidents reported from yesterday.
