governor wants $100 million for broadband

The state could invest about a 100 million dollars to help extend broadband.

Right now....there are many pockets statewide without sufficient access to

high speed internet.

The governor wants the money as incentive to help service providers offset the cost of

extending broadband.

State representative Jim Pressel, a republican from Rolling Prairie, says access to high speed

internet is critical for competing in this day and age.

The governor's funding request is in his budget proposal the state legislature is considering

during this year's ongoing four month session.
